We began our Rose Comb line in the early 2000's with the purchase of a pair of RC Red bantams at a show. This first set of birds did not have good type, they were short and did not have the "brick shape" of the traditional Rhode Island Red. We bred them with our Single Comb Reds and over the years have improved the type to the point where they are as good as our SC Red bantams. There are not many breeders of Rose Comb Red bantams in the US and even fewer willing to sell chicks. These show in the Rose Comb Clean Leg Class compared to the SC Red bantams that show in the Single Comb Clean Leg Class. They were admitted to the APA standard in 1952.
